Materials document his involvement with AIDS Project Los Angeles (APLA) and the Los Angeles committee of the 1987 National March on Washington for Lesbian and Gay Rights.

Norma Shearer collection
This collection consists of scrapbooks, photographs, and clippings of American Canadian actress Norma Shearer (1902-1983). Materials relate to Shearer's film career as well as her marriage to Irving Thalberg, trips to Great Britain, and Thalberg's death in 1937.
David Shepard collection on John Hoffman and Slavko Vorkapich
This collection consists of lectures, articles, newspaper clippings, correspondences, photographs, and other papers on film montage editors John Hoffman and Slavko Vorkapich compiled by film preservationist David Shepard. Hoffman and Vorkapich created two visual tone poems together. The second of which, "Forest Murmurs" (1947), was restored by David Shepard in 2004.
John V. Shinn photographs
The collection consists of photographs and two issues of Lincoln-Mercury News. John V. Shinn and Martin Block photographed their travels in California during June 1950. The collection also contains four other photographs of Shinn. Shinn served as editor of the Lincoln-Mercury News, 1949-1950.

Soler and Jordan family papers
This collection contains the papers of the Soler family, a Mexican family of actors, chiefly focused on the theatrical and film work of Andres Soler (1898-1969) and his goddaughter actor Gloria Jordan (born circa 1924). Materials chiefly consist of newspaper and magazine press clippings, theatrical programs, and many photographs of the family, both personal images and publicity photographs. The bulk of the collection dates from the 1930s to the 1950s.
