Scope and Content
The Photographs series includes images of Sandifer's personal and professional life from 1948-1995. Personal photographs include images of Sandifer's childhood, friends and family, and military service during the Korean War. Photographs relating to his professional life include images of his official appearances and of special events such as same-sex weddings and fundraising drag shows.
The earliest photographs are found in the albums. The general chronological photographs contain later images of Sandifer's personal life. The special event photographs include images of Mississippi Gay Alliance (MGA), Persons with AIDS/HIV Project (PWA), Jackson Gray Panthers (JGP), People's Anti-War Mobilization (PAM), and other organizational and special events Sandifer was involved with.
