Abstract

Letters, photographs, ephemera and a large scrapbook created and collected by Mary ("Mollie") Stoddard, president of the Los Angeles Florence Crittenton Home in the 1920s. The papers document the Home, and Mollie's personal and philanthropic pursuits. Mary ("Mollie") Wilcox Stoddard (later Mary Wilcox Hurd) was born in Placerville, CA in 1870. Mollie was a long time supporter and president of the Los Angeles Florence Crittenton Home.

Two scrapbooks containing newspaper clippings, theater reviews, interviews, obituaries, cast lists, programs, and other material pertaining to New York theatrical life, circa 1889-1904. A handwritten note on the inside cover of one of the scrapbooks states: "Property of Charles W. Aeaman / [address in Los Angeles, CA] / April 5, 1944."

Tindall was born in Indiana in 1894, graduated from Northwestern University, and embarked on a career in music education. He served as superintendent of the music program for the Kokomo, Indiana school stystem before World War I, and after serving in the Army, moved to Glen Cove, NY to be superintendent of music for the Glen Cove school system. ...
