Teoli, a self-taught photographer, worked to document the street life of 1970s Los Angeles and Hollywood. The images, primarily portraitures, emphasize the diversity in the population of 1970s Los Angeles. A number of images are devoted to transgender burlesque performer Barbara Lemay and depict her dressed in full costume.
