Abstract

The Yvonne Brathwaite Burke papers contain the records of the political activities of Yvonne Brathwaite Burke, University of Southern California Gould Law School alumna, state and federal legislator, and county official. Included are records from Burke's tenure in the California Assembly (1966-1972), U.S. Congress (1973-1978), and the Los Angeles Angeles County Board of Supervisor (1979-1980). Records also include her campaign for California State Attorney General (1978).

The Greater Los Angeles Association for the Study of Community Organization records documents the functions and activities of the Los Angeles Chapter of the Association for the Study of Community Organization (ASCO) from 1948-1987. The records consist of minutes and agendas of ASCO general and committee meetings, local and national newsletters, speeches, membership application forms, membership lists, promotional flyers, meeting announcements, correspondence, etc.
