Melissa Lopez and Teresa Wang wedding collection
Photographs, wedding invitations, wedding programs, marriage license from the commitment ("illegal wedding," August 26, 2006) and marriage ceremony (June 27, 2008) of Melissa Lopez and Teresa Wang. Melissa Lopez and Teresa Wang met in 2001 and registered with the California Secretary of State as domestic parters about 2005. They held a commitment ceremony on August 26, 2006 and were legally married in California on June 27, 2008.
Molly McKay and Davina Kotulski marriage scrapbooks
Scrapbooks assembled by Molly B. McKay documenting her and Davina S. Kotulski’s experience as the “poster couple” for marriage equality rights in California, 1998-2012. This collection consists of portable document formats (PDFs) of the pages of McKay’s 22 scrapbooks of clippings, correspondence, organizational materials, and photographs relevant to the couple’s activism.

Newspaper clippings and printouts of articles on posted to newspaper and other media websites ("WebClips") documenting the political battle over constitutional amendments banning same-sex marriage put before voters in 11 states (Arkansas, Georgia, Kentucky, Michigan, Mississippi, Montana, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon and Utah) in the general election of November 2, 2004.
Non-LGBTQ newspaper front page collection
The collection consists of mainstream newspaper front pages and sections reporting on LGBT people or topics concerning LGBT people. The collection documents the transformation in the print media's coverage of LGBT people and concerns from reporting on "sexual deviants" through the assassination of Harvey Milk to the acceptance of marriage rights. The newspapers front pages were culled from the ONE Subject Files collection and donations from patrons.
Karen Peper video recordings
Video recordings (1979-2005) from filmmaker and attorney, Karen Peper, documenting a variety of LGBT-related events from the 1980s to the early 2000s, particularly LGBT community activities in Michigan. The collection includes footage from the Marches on Washington for LGBT rights, Gay Games events, the national tour of the NAMES Project AIDS Memorial Quilt, lesbian weddings, protest demonstrations, pride parades, and other events.
Reverend Troy D. Perry papers
Reverend Troy Deroy Perry is an American religious leader, gay rights and human rights activist, and founder of the Metropolitan Community Churches (MCC), the first church specifically aimed at ministering to the LGBTQ community. His collection (1906-2015) includes documents, correspondence, photographs, ephemera, realia, audiovisual materials, and books related to his personal life, his work with the MCC, and his activism.
