Dansky is a writer, photographer, videographer, and activist, and was an initial member of the Gay Liberation Front (GLF) in New York City. The collection also includes photographs and video interviews from Dansky's project, "Outspoken: Oral History from LGBTQ Pioneers."

The subjects are "shameless" in living as gay men or transgender women embracing an openly queer or genderfuck identity.
