Biographical Note

Allison Delarue, graduated from Peddie School, a private prep school, in Hightstown, New Jersey. He continued his education at Princeton University where he earned his Bachelor of Arts in 1928 and later a Master of Arts. He also studied at Oxford University, where he studied English ballet history and dance. After returning to the United States he attained a staff position at Cooper Union Museum in New York and later at Princeton University McCarter Theatre. He authored two books and many articles on dance between 1968 and 1990. Delarue also had an interest in photography which he explored while at the University of Princeton.
