Series Scope and Content Summary From the Series: This series documents the circumstances surrounding a full-page advertisement placed by Dignity in the April 27, 1987, issue of Newsweek magazine at a cost of $25,289.41, in response to the Vatican's October 30, 1986, letter on homosexuality that prohibited Dignity chapters from meeting or celebrating mass on any church property.
