The MGA series, 1971-1998, documents the organization's administrative history; the affiliations and resources utilized to provide and support the organization's services; the memberships and chartered corporations with which the organization was directly associated; the MGA newsletter; and topical resources relating to gay issues and events. Administrative records include meeting minutes, memos, correspondence, bank statements, by-laws, treasurer reports, expense reports, budgets, grant and funding applications, notes, publications, and referral forms. Affiliation and resource records include information about external organizations affiliated with MGA services. Memberships and chartered corporation records include administrative, operational, and financial records regarding MGA charters and memberships. Topical records include research material on various gay and lesbian related issues. The MGA's publication, This Month in Mississippi (TMM), edited by Sandifer, provides information about services regarding gay, AIDS, and civil rights related issues.
