In 2002, Muske-Dukes agreed to participate as a faculty member at the conference. Included is the confirmation reply from the conference, a 2002 directory, the biographies of 2002 faculty members, a speech written by Muske-Dukes, a photocopies essay about John Donne, one issue of the conference newsletter from 2002, and two issues of the newsletter from 1976.

Giving Back the World

Notes, correspondence, and poems for a project called Giving Back the World, which was to result in an anthology of poems by current world leaders (circa 1986). The anthology was to be edited by Muske-Dukes and Elaine Dudley. Amongst the world leaders contributing poems to the project are President Corazon Aquino of the Philippines, Margarita Papandreou (founder of the Women's Union of Greece), Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher of Great Britian, and Pope John Paul II.

The Inside Circuit and Right to Write

Scope and Contents

The Inside Circuit and Right to Write consisted of readings at New York State prisons. Right to Write was a reading specifically in response to Jerome Washington's removal from his post as editor of the Auburn Prison's newspaper. Correspondence about Washington and the benefit reading are housed in this file. There are also copies of an ad posted in The Nation for a benefit reading for Washington.

This series traces Muske-Dukes' various academic endeavors, inluding her career at the University of Southern California (USC), her work in New York area prisons, and her participation in conferences and other programs. Documentation relating to Muske-Dukes' USC tenure has been compiled in its own subseries to commerate her contribution to USC's history, in particular, her role in the creation of USC's graduate program in Literature and Creative Writing.

Poetry to the Point

In 1997, Muske-Dukes participated in Poetry to the Point, a program that invited poets to read and discuss poetry at Westpoint with cadets enrolled in a section of English Literature. Included is correspondence from the United States Military Academy, Muske-Dukes' itinerary, notes about the program, and a letter from a cadet requesting a letter of recommendation.
