Scope and Contents
The Inside Circuit and Right to Write consisted of readings at New York State prisons. Right to Write was a reading specifically in response to Jerome Washington's removal from his post as editor of the Auburn Prison's newspaper. Correspondence about Washington and the benefit reading are housed in this file. There are also copies of an ad posted in The Nation for a benefit reading for Washington.
