Recordings, 1946-1975

 Series

Scope and Contents

Lastly, the "Recordings" series is split into two sub-series for magnetic audio tapes and vinyl record albums. The vast majority of these are recordings of performances of Kanitz's own work, and there are many duplicates throughout. In general, the record albums are from earlier (1940s-1950s) while the magnetic tapes are from slightly later (1960s-1970s). Not all of them are in good condition, and Kanitz himself had written notes on the recordings if a record was broken, or if the tape was scratched.
