Abstract
Gerhard Weissler was a professor of physics at the University of Southern California from 1944 until 1988, and chairman of the university's physics department from 1951 to 1956.
Born in Germany in 1918, Weissler earned his degree in physics at the Institute of Technology, Berlin, but his politics resulted in his expulsion from Germany.
