Abstract Dr. Catherine Beers was a professor of zoology at the University of Southern California in the 1920s, 30s, and 40s. This small collection consists of published and unpublished works by Beers, student papers, roll books, and clippings related to her work on heredity and other subjects.
Abstract Letters, ephemera, notes, and pamphlets created and collected by USC Professor of Botany and Zoology Alfred B. Ulrey, and his wife, USC alumna Florence Speicher Ulrey, documenting aspects of the history of USC and Ulrey's teaching and scientific research interests.

Overview The Ruth C. Van Vleet papers contain laboratory and class notes from Van Vleet's studies in zoology and sciences at the University of California, Berkeley, 1916-1928, as well as journal articles sent to her from the University of Pennsylvania. Van Vleet worked as a high school science teacher in Los Angeles where she lived until her death in 1978.
