This small collection contains the papers of American casting director Phil Friedman (died 1974). The collection includes books, casting directories, photographs, studio publicity shots, correspondence, pamphlets, clippings, and miscellaneous articles. Much of the material reflects Friedman's work as a casting director from the mid 1920s through the 1940s.

She was a casting director for films and television series including "Misfits of Science," "Leona Helmsley: The Queen of Mean" (1990), and "Bad Attitudes" (1991).

Included are scripts for The Partridge Family; The Paul Lydne Show; Honeymoon Suite; Temperature’s Rising; and The Girl With Something Extra. There is also the final shooting script for QB VII (1974) written by Edward Anhalt.
