Abstract

The Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) Monitor Response Committee records, 1991-1997, is a collection of the committee's meeting notes, correspondence, and related articles. The committee monitors radio, film, and television and sends letters to media outlets praising or criticizing their portrayal of gays and lesbians. The collection was donated by committee member Mike Roth.

Abstract

Clippings of articles, columns, and reviews regarding lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender actors, motion pictures, and film festivals. The clippings were culled from a variety of mainstream and lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender magazines and newspapers, 1966-2011. Mechtly began collecting film clippings in the 1970s. Vito Russo introduced Metchly to other columnists and film festival directors to further the collection of clippings.
