Scope and Contents A collection of five photographs of African American Buffalo soldiers. One of the frequent assignments of Buffalo Soldiers was to assist the early frontiers of the Western United States. These African American soldiers contributed greatly to pathfinding, road and trail construction, building telegraph lines, and mapping out much of the frontier for homesteaders.
