Anthony (1902-1970) was born in New York City as Lester Kroll and died in San Francisco in 1970. He was a radio host, moderator of the Goodwill Hour program (later John J. Anthony Hour), from 1937 to 1953, providing expert advice on marriage, divorce, and marital relations to listeners.
