Boeckmann Center Iberian and Latin American map collection

Abstract This collection contains 203 printed maps and small atlases, from the sixteenth to the twenty-first centuries, relating to the geographic areas of Latin America, including the Caribbean, and Spain and Portugal. Most are not widely held by other libraries, and some are unique to USC.

Robert Ignatius Burns papers

Overview The Robert Ignatius Burns papers contain three boxes of Burns' personal papers and four boxes of his collected manuscripts. The manuscripts date between 1212 and 1608. The majority of the manuscripts originate from Spain and are written in Latin or Catalan, but one manuscript is from Rome. Robert Ignatius Burns (1921-2008) was a scholar of medieval history who taught at the University of San Francisco and the University of California Los Angeles.

California Missions collection of inventories, reports, and other material

Overview A collection of 14 letters from Rubén Darío to Julio Piquet spanning 1894 to 1914. Rubén Darío was a Nicaraguan poet who initiated the Spanish-American literary movement known as modernismo. Overview Three issues of the newsletter, Das Blatt, published in Bogotá, Colombia by the Asociación Israelita Montefiore. The issues are dated: 1966 November 30; 1968 March 1; and 2019 November. The full title on the two issues from the 1960s is: "Das Blatt: Mitteilungen der Asociación Israelita Montefiore (AIM)." The 2019 issue is an 80 year anniversary edition. The Asociación Israelita Montefiore is an association for the Masorti Jewish community in Bogotá.

Overview The papers of William Michael Mathes (1936-2012), a historian and expert on Spain and Mexico, especially the Baja California Peninsula.
