Abstract

The Henry "Terry" Duffy and Dale Winter papers consist of clippings, publications, playbills, and photographs documenting the careers of theatrical producer Henry Duffy and his wife Dale Winter. Duffy and Winter, who were married, worked together for a number of years, and opened a theater together. The collection also includes information about performances by Charlotte Greenwood, Edward Everett Horton, and Billie Burke, as well as documenting the careers of Duffy and Winter.

Abstract A collection of 18 Los Angeles theatrical playbills dating from 1917 to 1920. 13 of the playbills from from the Trinity Auditorium, and the remainder come from the Philharmonic Auditorium, the Orpheum, the Gamut Club at the Temple Auditorium, and the Mason Opera House. The Wally G. Shidler collection of Southern California ephemera consists of pamphlets, maps, postcards, theater programs, city directories, electric railway time tables, and transit passes from the Los Angeles City, County, and adjacent areas collected by former motion picture engineer, Wally G. Shidler. Pacific Electric and Los Angeles Railway materials as well as theater programs from most of the major theaters in the Los Angeles area comprise a significant portion of the collection.
