Abstract
A collection of Southern California memorabilia and ephemera collected by John F. Merritt, founder of Californians for Preservation Action and its successor organization, California Preservation Foundation (CPF). The collection contains postcards, pamphlets, magazines, produce crate labels, prints, comic books, illustrations, and countercultural political materials created between 1899 and 2005, with the bulk of the collection spanning from 1910 to 1970.

Gerhard and Marianne Pinkus emigrated from Germany to Los Angeles in the 1930s and began to collect art in the 1940s. After accumulating a small collection of choice (and sometimes rare) finds, Gerhard and Marianne became a major force in the Los Angeles art world, especially in regard to their primary interest: Marc Chagall. Abstract
The Wally G. Shidler collection of Southern California ephemera consists of pamphlets, maps, postcards, theater programs, city directories, electric railway time tables, and transit passes from the Los Angeles City, County, and adjacent areas collected by former motion picture engineer, Wally G. Shidler. Pacific Electric and Los Angeles Railway materials as well as theater programs from most of the major theaters in the Los Angeles area comprise a significant portion of the collection.
