John Callahan was an activist, educator, actor, producer, director, and co-founder of the gay and bisexual rap group Age of Consent. His collection, 1930-2013, consists of personal papers, theatrical production materials, teaching materials, photographs, and audio recordings for Age of Consent.

Rocco was known for his charity, organizational, and collaborative work on behalf of gay and lesbian community in Southern California, primarily Los Angeles, and later in Hawaii. The bulk of the collection documents Rocco's life from 1970 through 1990.
