Abstract

Criminal court records, civil court records, correspondence, law review articles, clippings, reports, state bills and laws, notes, and other professional papers of Thomas F. Coleman and Jay M. Kohorn documenting their careers from 1972-1991. Coleman and Kohorn were attorneys specializing in defending sexual civil liberties, primarily in the LGBT community.

Abstract The collection consists of Dr. Charles W. Gossett's research on domestic partnership benefits, LGBT employment discrimination, and other LGBT-related topics, 1966-2008. The Municipal Elections Committee of Los Angeles records document the business functions, fundraising operations, and outreach programs of the political action committee during its existence from 1977-1991. The bulk of the collection comprises board meeting minutes, agendas, and financial reports, as well as correspondence to and from political figures lobbying for support of gay and lesbian rights.
