The manuscripts date between 1212 and 1608. The majority of the manuscripts originate from Spain and are written in Latin or Catalan, but one manuscript is from Rome. Robert Ignatius Burns (1921-2008) was a scholar of medieval history who taught at the University of San Francisco and the University of California Los Angeles.
