Scope and Content

The collection consists of documents for the 1982 Christopher Street West festival and parade, including a list of slogan entries, logo designs by Kephart, and drafts of the anthem written by Kephart for the festival and parade. Kephart's anthem, "A New Gay Dawning," was produced for the 1982 festival and parade. The collection also includes Kephart's digital images of the 2008 festival. The collection consists of photographs of Kephart's time with the Society of Pat Rocco Enlightened Enthusiasts (SPREE) between 1971-1978, entries for photography fairs, materials from the Tom of Finland Foundation, and erotic art on subjects of BDSM, military, Master and Slave, water sports, puppy play, and sex toys.The following artists were found: Michael D. Allen, Lionel Cavelo, Rob Clarke, Tom of Finland, Steven Garcia, Jon Gatto, Xavier Gicquel, Michael Kirwan, Joe Phillips, Benoit Prévot, Minoru Toyama, Lalo Ugalde, Valentine.

Biographical Note

Larry C. Kephart was a member of the Society of Pat Rocco Enlightened Enthusiasts (SPREE) in the 1970s. In the 1980s he was a Christopher Street West (CSW) board member and served as the treasurer of the organization from 1980 to 1981.
