The collection comprises administrative records, photographs, staff manuals, information packets, clippings, brochures, and other papers, 2001-2002, from the Rainbow Floor, a residential community for gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender students and their allies at the University of Southern California. Included are photographs of the Rainbow Floor's residents and supporters and a portfolio documenting the group's programmatic activities. The collection also includes administrative records, general information, and manuals for residential advisors at USC.

Administrative History

The Rainbow Floor was established in circa 2001 as a residential community for gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender students and their allies at the University of Southern California. The Rainbow Floor was established to "Empower gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgendered students, and their allies, to lead full and rewarding lives by providing a safe floor in which to live, learn, and grow." The Rainbow Floor collaborates with other university departments to organize campus-wide and community events that highlight LGBT movements and issues.
