Scope and Contents
The collection comprises meeting minutes, correspondence, administrative records, event flyers, scholarship fund records, clippings, photographs, and publicity material, bulk 1979-1980, documenting the activities of the Gay and Lesbian Student Union of Los Angeles City College (LACC). Materials document the group's activities including the administration of a scholarship fund for gay and lesbian students; organizing gay and lesbian themed events, such as film screenings and a history speaker series; representing the gay and lesbian student body in LACC's Associated Students and Interclub Council; and collaborating with gay activist Don Amador to introduce and promote a gay studies class at LACC.

Biographical / Historical
The Gay and Lesbian Student Union (GLSU) of Los Angeles City College (LACC) was established in 1979 and was part of the Associated Students and Interclub Council at LACC. Michael Lombardi served as GLSU's first president from 1979-1980. Among its activities, the GLSU organized a series of speakers for a gay history month; advocated for the inclusion of gay studies courses at LACC; marched in the gay pride parade; and established a Harvey Milk Memorial Scholarship Fund for gay and lesbian students.
