Biography

"Mac’s professional career has spanned more than twenty years with Southern California Edison (SCE). He is a co-founder of his company’s LGBT Employee Resource Group (ERG) and the force behind SCE advancing benefits for domestic partner and same-sex married benefits at his company. Mac has volunteered in many charitable efforts over the years. He was a founding member of the Orange County (OC) chapter of the NAMES Project and the OC Center’s Federation Leadership Training Program. In addition, Mac has been a major fundraiser for the OC AIDS Walk and other LGBT and women’s organizations. He was named a co-Grand Marshall of the OC Gay Pride Parade for open military service that led to his honorable discharge under Don’t Ask Don’t Tell. Mac has been a supporter of the Elections Committee of the County of Orange (ECCO) and the OC Gay & Lesbian Center. As an activist, he was arrested as an act of civil disobedience when Governor Pete Wilson vetoed the gay rights bill AB 101. He has fundraised for Friends of Project 10, Equality California, United Negro College Fund, and gay political campaigns including Mayor Mitch Ward's (Manhattan Beach) run for California State Assembly."
