Scope and Contents

The collection consists of manuscripts, scripts, notebooks, clippings and magazines, anthologies, organizational flyers and other material, 1986-2009, from gay writer, Albert P. Busendorfer. The collection includes Busendorfer's published and unpublished short stories, poetry and novels. The bulk of the collection consists of material Busendorfer produced after his retirement. Materials also document his participation in gay and lesbian senior citizen organizations.

Permission for publication is given on behalf of ONE National Gay and Lesbian Archives at USC Libraries as the owner of the physical items and is not intended to include or imply permission of the copyright holder, which must also be obtained.

Biography

Albert Peter Busendorfer was born in New York on October 9, 1932. He moved to Los Angeles in 1965 and worked as a Transportation Analyst for the United States Borax and Chemical Corporation. In his spare time, he was an aspiring writer and took creative writing classes. Later in his life, he taught writing classes for the Senior Services program of the Los Angeles Gay & Lesbian Center, and he made regular contributions to West Hollywood's annual anthology of writings by senior citizens, Senior Moments.

Busendorfer died in Los Angeles on February 25, 2010.
