Scope and Contents
The collection consists of correspondence, meeting minutes, memoranda, written testimony, a flyer, and a clipping, 1971-1972, from the Orange County Chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union. The bulk of the materials were written by Jay Murley. Materials document the chapter's attempt to form a Rights of Sexuality Committee in response to increased police harassment of gays and lesbians by the Garden Grove and Orange Police Departments. Other materials in the collection document an incident involving discrimination against a Native American.
