Scope and Contents
The collection comprises news packets, correspondence, and administrative records, 1969-1978, from the Liberation News Service (LNS), a press agency for alternative and radical media based in New York City, New York. The packets include news, analysis, features, editorials, poems, photographs, and cartoons; and document New Left, radical, and anti-war movements, as well as the gay and lesbian liberation movement. The bulk of the collection is news packets from the years 1970-1971, when the LNS engaged in a concerted effort to expand its coverage of the gay and lesbian movement.
