McCourt, Frank, 1940-1948

 File — Box: 1, Folder: 31-36
Identifier: Series 1.

Scope and Contents

Folder 31 contains two legends to the correspondence. The first legend provides brief descriptions of the content of the letters from 1947-1948. The second legend mostly provides content descriptions of the Gerber/boyFrank correspondence, but does list two probable Gerber/McCourt correspondences. Folder 32 contains correspondence between boyFrank and Contacts listing #1744 "Frank." Although no definitive link ties this Frank to Frank McCourt, this 1940s correspondence immediately predates known correspondence with Frank McCourt later that year. Folders 33-35 contains chronologically arranged correspondence between McCourt and boyFrank. The correspondence includes boyFrank's acceptance letter as a member of the United States Rocket Society Inc. (McCourt was the Senior Rocketeer and Vice President of the Manhattan Chapter). The correspondence also includes discussions of gay contemporaries, including Henry Gerber. Folder 36 contains one undated letter each written by McCourt to R. WL Deagan, Henry Gerber, and Al [no last name given].
