Series Scope and Content
This series comprises resumes and curriculum vitae, last will and testaments, interview transcripts, appointment books, education- and employment-related documents, financial records, real estate records, health records, correspondence, clippings and other material documenting Jim Kepner's personal life. The majority of this series includes material that is not directly related to his participation in the gay and lesbian movement. However, it should be noted that this series includes correspondence with the United States Selective Service and the Galveston County Draft Board regarding Kepner's homosexuality (1943-1945), as well as transcripts of interviews with Kepner. In addition, this series also includes documentation for Kepner's other jobs and business ventures, such as his co-ownership of a San Francisco bookstore, Books on Telegraph Hill (1950-1951).
