The records document the independent research projects of ONE Inc., the cooperative endeavors with university and research teams, and outside research requests and proposals, 1957-1993, bulk 1957-1982. The records consist of grant applications, research data, reference materials, statistics and analyses, report drafts, final reports, and correspondence.

ONE Inc. sponsored research projects include: "A Study of the Civil Rights Status of Homosexuals under Existing Laws of Several States," 1957; "A Study of 388 North American Homosexual Males," 1969, "A Manual for Peer Counseling of Homosexuals," 1972, and An Annotated Bibliography of Homosexuality, 1976. All but the peer counseling manual are documented in this series, although an undated draft of "Counseling the Homosexual" is listed in the textbooks section of the Education Division records series.

Although "A Study of 388 North American Homosexual Males" emerged from research conducted for the 1961 Midwinter Institute, was largely processed through work done in ONE Institute courses, and received funding from the Institute for the Study of Human Resources, the study is identified in ONE Inc. literature as a research project and has been classified as such. Similarly although An Annotated Bibliography of Homosexuality developed in conjunction with improvements in library operations, was assisted by work conducted in ONE Institute courses, and received funding from the Institute for the Study of Human Resources, it also is identified in ONE Inc. literature as a research project.
