Scope and Contents
The records consist of the administrative files, cataloging manuals, project files, catalogs, and samples of submitted materials of the Baker Memorial Library at ONE Inc., 1955-1994. The administrative records document the development, operations, official reports, and policies of the library. The catalog, cataloging manuals, and projects records document the various catalogs maintained by the library over the years as well as the policies and activities that developed and maintained them. The samples of submitted materials document the materials submitted to and maintained by the library in addition to books, newsletters, and periodicals.
Because improvements in library operations often occurred in tandem with work conducted with the annotated bibliography project, the Annotated Bibliography of Homosexuality section of the Research Division records may provide additional information on the library. The funding of library staff in 1983 can be referenced under the Institute for the Study of Human Resources series. Gifts to the library are documented both in the accession files under catalogs as well as in the administrative records series under gifts.
