Biographical / Historical
The Butterfly publication is actually a collocation of two sets of publications released by Ron Aviano at ONE Inc. The Butterfly Gazette was published from 1974-1975, while The Butterfly was published from 1977-1979. However the intention of both publications was summed up in the April 1977 issue: "Ron Aviano is the chairman of ONE in Los Angeles, the on-going social arm for the members and friends of ONE Inc. local denizens. The Butterfly is the newsletter and social calendar for ONE in Los Angeles." Contents of the publication include a calendar of events as well as poetry, short fiction, editorials, and personal accounts usually written by Ron Aviano. While ONE Calendar focused on official ONE Inc. functions, The Butterfly focused more on social gatherings, dining, hiking, dancing, comedy, theater, music events, et al.
