The sporting events include Gymfest (from 1969), held annually in September at Santa Monica Beach; Gay Games 3 (Vancouver, 1990), 4 (New York, 1994), and 5 (Amsterdam, 1998); and various swim meets, and lifeguard and bodybuilding contests. The Gay Pride events include Christopher Street West in Los Angeles (from 1975), San Francisco Gay Pride (from 1979), and Long Beach (from 1989). The collection includes candid shots of Arnold Schwarzenegger in the San Francisco area in December 1974, several slides taken on annual European trips sponsored by ONE, Inc., and a small number of nudes.
