Scope and Content
This collection consists of sheet music from the early nineteenth century to the mid twentieth century. The works vary in genre from opera pieces to folk music, including works by Christy's Minstrels. The music is from different parts of the world, primarily Europe and the United States. Many of the folk songs are ones that European immigrants brought with them to the United States. Some of the pieces from the early 1900s are about World War I and from soldiers' points of view.
