She is happy that they can be friends and wants him to know that the year with him was one of the happiest of her life. She has put his personal things in a box for him and "ventured to give back the real jewelry you gave me." She urges Miller to be true to himself and not lay all his happiness "in the hands of any woman" because they "are all calculating and egoistic. And very few are as 'cricket' as I am." The last page of the letter contains the lyrics to "Go 'Way from My Window" which Hughes says is "one of Sylvia's and my new gesture-songs. Somehow the words to me seem very appropriate." 4 leaves.
