Collection consists of comics and illustrated story books for children in North Korea. The publications are in black and white, and in color and feature military and agricultural imagery and authoritarian themes.

Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK), has a totalitarian hereditary dictatorship, leading to heavily controlled publications. Children’s literature instills self-reliance and loyalty to the country and the Great Leader, Kim Il Sung (1912-1994).
