The Paul Courtright papers contain photograph albums, scrapbooks, newspaper clippings, maps, reports, books, correspondence, journals, and other material collected and/or created by Paul Courtright, a former Peace Corps volunteer who was stationed in the Jeonnam Province of South Korea from 1979 to 1981. While working with leprosy patients in rural South Korea, Courtright witnessed the 1980 Gwangju Uprising. Courtright later published a book, Witnessing Gwangju: A Memoir, detailing his experiences.
