Scope and Contents
Collection consists of scripts, treatments, and screenplays from Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures’ first four decades of operation. Materials also include scripts and treatments from MGM Television, MGM shorts, and shorts distributed by MGM from Hal Roach Studios and Pete Smith Specialties.

Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios Inc. (MGM) is an American film and television production company founded in 1924. MGM was formed by Marcus Loew by merging Metro Pictures, Goldwyn Picture, and Louis B. Mayer Pictures into a single company.
