Scope and Contents

Collection consists of cast lists and memos for the various film and television projects worked on by casting director Caro Jones (1923-2009). Materials range from her early career with the live drama series United States Steel Hour in 1961 through to one of her final credits the TV movie It Came from Outer Space II in 1994.

Biographical / Historical

Caro Jones (1923-2009) was a Canadian American casting director. She began as a stage actress then worked in theatre casting before moving into film and television. In her over 4-decade career Jones cast more than 1,000 television programs, pilots, TV movies, miniseries, and films. Some of her notable credits include Rocky (1976), Green Acres (1968-1971), and The Karate Kid (1984). Jones was a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences, a member and past governor of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences and a charter member of the Casting Society of America and Women in Film.
