Biographical / Historical

Carl Foreman, CBE (1914-1984) was an American screenwriter and film producer. He was a member of the Communist Party from 1938 to 1942, leading to his blacklisting in Hollywood during the 1950s. During World War II he helped write the script for "Know Your Enemy – Japan" (1945). Foreman's most notable movies are "The Bridge on the River Kwai" (1957) and "High Noon" (1952).
