Scope and Contents

This collection consists of scripts from the television program Space Patrol, by American writer and actor Maurice “Maury” Hill. Includes seven volumes of bound episode scripts along with photocopies of select scripts and clippings related to other Space Patrol cast members. This collection was originally part of the Special Collections Performing Arts 100 series, labeled 100-43.

Biographical / Historical

Maurice “Maury” Hill (1918-2007) was an American actor and writer best known for his work on the television program Space Patrol (1950-1955). Hill performed in plays for the troops while serving in the U.S. Army and following his service he appeared in small theatre productions in New York. Hill’s Broadway debut was in a small role in Mr. Roberts (1948). He became a regular on live television appearing on episodes of Kraft Television Theater, Suspense, and Studio 1, until he was called to Hollywood to join the cast of Space Patrol. Hill also appeared in such television series as Alice (1976-1985), and Dragnet (1951-1959).
