Scope and Contents

Collection consists of two photographs of Ethel Barrymore donated by Marian Stewart. One photo depicts Barrymore with her three children Samuel, Ethel, and Jack, while the other photograph depict Barrymore as a child with her two brothers Lionel and John, and their mother Georgie.

Originally part of the Ethel Barrymore Memorial Theatre Arts Collection at the University of Southern California Library 100 Series, and was labeled 100-27.

Biographical / Historical

Marian Sisk Stewart was the daughter of American film producer Robert Sisk (1903-1964).

Ethel Barrymore (1879-1959) was an American stage, screen, and radio actress and member of the Barrymore family of actors. Her career spanned six decades and she was regarded as “The First Lady of American Theatre”.
