Scope and Contents

Collection consists of photographs and clippings of American theatre and film actress Madge Kennedy. Materials are composed of promotional photographs of Kennedy for theatre production of Michael and Mary (1929) and Paris Bound (1927) along with clippings from various publications in 1922.

Originally part of the Ethel Barrymore Memorial Theatre Arts Collection at the University of Southern California Library 100 Series, and was labeled 100-20.

Biographical / Historical

Madge Kennedy (1891-1987) was an American theatre, silent film, radio, and television actress. Kennedy starred in 21 films including Baby Mine (1917), The Service Star (1918), and Dollars and Sense (1920). Her television career included appearances on Schlitz Playhouse of Stars (1951-1959), and recurring roles on Leave it to Beaver (1957-1963), and The Odd Couple (1970-1975).
