Stewart Stern papers
Scope and Contents
This collection consists of scripts, production notes, and newspaper clippings of American screenwriter Stewart Stern (1922-2015). Materials include scripts, reviews, publicity, pressbooks, stills, outlines, treatments, research notes, correspondence, and shooting schedules related to Stern's projects (some unproduced). Screenplays include Rebel Without A Cause (1955), The James Dean Story (1957), The Ugly American (1963), Rachel, Rachel (1968), and Summer Wishes, Winter Dreams (1972). There are also television scripts for Philco Playhouse, Gulf Playhouse, and Playhouse 90.

Biographical / Historical
Stewart Stern (1922-2015) was an American screenwriter. He is best known for writing the film "Rebel Without a Cause" (1955). Adolph Zukor, founder of Paramount Pictures, was his uncle.
