Biographical / Historical

Nelson Eddy (1901-1967) was an American baritone singer and actor. He performed in musical films, opera, concerts, radio, television, and nightclubs. Eddy frequently co-starred with soprano Jeanette MacDonald. He hosted a number of radio programs including "The Voice of Firestone" (1936), "The Chase and Sanborn Hour" (1937–1939), and "Kraft Music Hall" (1947–1948). Eddy received honorary M.Mus. degrees from the University of Southern California (1941) and Temple University (1950).
